Meet the Founder
More Than a Brand — A Beacon of Hope
Beacon 22 LLC was founded in 2026 by Karen Sterbenz with one mission at its core: to ensure no veteran ever feels alone after service.
What began as an idea quickly became something much greater than apparel. Beacon 22 was created to shine a light on the invisible battles many veterans face every day — battles that often continue long after the uniform comes off. For countless veterans, the transition home can feel isolating, overwhelming, and unseen. Beacon 22 exists to remind them that hope is still within reach.
The name itself carries deep meaning.
“Beacon” represents hope, guidance, and light during dark times — a signal that someone is there, someone cares, and no one has to walk through darkness alone. The number “22” is widely recognized in veteran suicide awareness, symbolizing the urgent need for support, understanding, and action within the veteran community. Together, Beacon 22 stands as a powerful reminder that even in the hardest moments, light can still be found.
But Beacon 22 is not built on awareness alone. It is built on action, community, and purpose.
Every piece we create represents more than style. It represents Resilience. Strength. Sacrifice. It represents standing beside those who served and creating conversations that matter. Through purpose-driven apparel, awareness campaigns, and community support initiatives, Beacon 22 aims to inspire connection and remind veterans that their story does not end after service.
We believe healing begins when people feel seen.
That’s why Beacon 22 is committed to building a movement that encourages support, compassion, and real human connection. Our mission is to create products and messages that spark awareness while helping veterans know they are valued, needed, and never forgotten.
This is for the veterans who continue fighting silent battles.
For the families who stand beside them.
For the communities learning how to better support them.
And for every person who believes hope can save lives.
Beacon 22 isn’t just clothing.
It’s a movement to be the light for veterans searching for hope.
